Example: which valve is needed to deliver 2,2 m3/h of water with free exhaust and head of 5,5 mH2O?

Solution: consulting the chart, start from H = 5,5 on the abscissa and Q = 2,2 on the ordinate, the point of intersection is on the line Kv = 3. Thus, the valve must have a Kv = 3.


Q  = flow rate in m3/h
Dp = pressure drop in mH2O
Kv = flow factor
