As opposed to any traditional solenoid valve the hose pinching version shuts off the flow of any medium without turbolences as weII as death spaces where the medium can stagnate. This system allows a bi-directionai flow. The opening and closing actions are made by a coil operated pinching device which squeezes a soft hose. The hose material is the only one in contact with the medium: this feature enables the use of pinch solenoid valves in sterile, physiologic, alimentary applications. The maximum operating pressures are in the region of 1 bar but they are also related to hose material, hose thickness and coils power. Further details are available on request.

Materials
The listed models are suitable for soft silicon hoses or other hoses having similar flexibility and hardness (55 ± 3 Shore A). Please ask for further information about the use of different soft hoses: the hoses are not included in our supply. The valve housing is in anodyzed aluminium, the pinching device is in POM: acetal copolymer, graphite reinforced (S104 - S108 -S204 - S305 - S308) or in PA: glass reinforced polyamide (S105 - S106 - S205 - S206 - S306 - S307). And the remaining valve components are in stainless steel.

Special devices for flow regulation, discontinuous duty, latching models, surge models can be designed in cooperation with the customer.

CoiIs
lnternally moulded steel clamp. Insulation class "F" (155°C); the winding is wound by class "H" (180°C), wires. Before moulding into glass fibre reinforced PBT (polybutylene -terephtalate) the winding is vacuum impregnated by polyester resin. Ambient temperature from -10°C to +60°C. Standard electric connections (2 poles plus grounding) suitable for DIN 43650 plug connectors or fast crimp connectors 6,3x0,8 as per DIN 46340: the micro-coils, series "ZO...", are suitable for fast crimp connectors 2,8x0,5 as per DIN 46340 or for micro plug connectors. Protection degree IP65 as per EN 60529 (DIN 40050) if the coil is duly fitted with plug connector. Except for some models all the coils are designed for continuous duty (ED 100%) and they are SEV-ASE (CH) approved. Furthermore, these coils comply with the requirements of the directive 73/23/CEE and amendment 93/68/CEE. On request with domestic (IMQ) and international (VDE, UL and so on) approvals.

Voltages
The coils are suitable for DC operation only. The standard Voltages are 12 or 24V DC. Other voltages are available on request. Tolerance on the rated voltages: +10% -5%. For latching coils only: ±10%.

Life
We can guarantee a quite long life of hoses because the pinching device has been designed for soft operation through a well balanced force. Since soft hoses are not supplied by us additional details must be requested fo the hoses manufacturer. The pinch valves are reliable for more than 20 millions cycles depending on the model.

Important warning
Don't energize the pinch solenoid valves if the hose is not placed inside the valve body because the valve would not work.
